In a new partnership, Microsoft and Darktrace aim to enhance cybersecurity for customers by providing enterprise-scale, self-learning artificial intelligence (AI) that detects and responds to cyber-threats.

According to Darktrace, the collaboration will highlight its self-learning AI for use within Microsoft environments, including Microsoft 365 and cloud applications like Azure Sentinel. Together, the two businesses will help to improve security across multi-platform and multi-cloud environments and automate threat investigations.

“As cyber-attacks become increasingly sophisticated, AI is adding a deeper level of protection in detecting these threats,” said Clare Barclay, CEO of Microsoft UK. “The partnership between Microsoft and Darktrace will help keep organisations secure, enabling them to focus on their core business and customers.”

As part of the partnership, the two firms are collaborating in a number of areas to support customers. Microsoft Azure will host Antigena Email, which uses Darktrace’s autonomous response technology to stop advanced email threats. Darktrace also now integrates with Azure Sentinel to create automated threat investigation reports and Microsoft Defender to connect AI detection capabilities.

“I am proud to be partnering with Microsoft, bringing Darktrace’s Cyber AI and autonomous response into joint customer environments,” said Poppy Gustafsson, CEO of Darktrace. “Everywhere Microsoft runs, Darktrace secures.”
