HM16: Satya Nadella outlines ‘systems of intelligence’ vision

The 2016 edition of Hannover Messe – the world’s largest industrial technology fair – takes place this week in Germany.

Sunday saw Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella deliver a keynote address, in which he outlined his ‘systems of intelligence’ vision, and how these can be used by companies to gain insight and proactively benefit from big data, optimise operations, and reinvent their business model around industrial products.

Nadella explained how these systems of intelligence are not working in isolation, and described the conversion of information technology and operational technology as pervasive.

Nadella also highlighted a number of companies already working with Microsoft to revolutionise their business, including Siemens, Jabil, Rolls-Royce, Japan Airlines and Liebherr.

“It changes how you will engage with your customers, how you in fact empower your own employees inside every one of your organisations to be able to gain insight from big data, take action from big data, and to optimise your operations and change the very nature of the business models around your industrial products,” he said.
