Ferranti extends MECOMS 365 for Italian energy retail
With help from Utilia, MECOMS4ITA will innovate and digitise the country’s utilities market

Computer systems firm Ferranti has extended its Microsoft Dynamics-based MECOMS 365 platform to meet Italy’s energy retail needs. Following a partnership with IT provider and Gruppo SGR subsidiary Utilia, the new solution called MECOMS4ITA aims to innovate and digitise the country’s utilities market.

The platform offers an integrated approach to customer engagement, customer care and billing, and meter data management in a bid to improve the customer experience.

The solution will facilitate market interaction for gas and power through the MECOMS Enterprise Extensibility Platform (MEEP). The engine uses Microsoft Azure to store market data, easily integrates with other non-MECOMS systems, improves scalability and flexibility by leveraging the cloud and provides a single platform for customers worldwide.

MECOMS4ITA will be available for preview in 2019, with the first deployment in the Italian market scheduled for early 2020.
