French leather goods manufacturer Le Tanneur has implemented TXT’s product lifecycle management (PLM) solution to accelerate product development cycles and expand its collections.
To drive revenue growth and brand loyalty, Le Tanneur wanted to extend its customer base, reduce the product development cycle and limit re-workings to ensure collections were brought to market quickly. The company also wanted to develop more collections per season, while ensuring that designs could be altered quickly to accommodate changes in fashion trends or other requirements.
Offering a central repository for product and data collection, TXT’s Microsoft-based PLM solution supports Le Tanneur’s product development from the initial concept stages to the final design production phase. When Le Tanneur enters new product specifications into TXT PLM, the details are automatically saved, eliminating the risk of duplication and inaccuracy, which had previously hindered Le Tanneur’s ability to manage its collections’ bill of materials.
In addition, TXT PLM stores historical information about past collections and products for analysis. TXT PLM enables the centralising a range of information including samples and production technical worksheets, product specifications, labelling and costs.
“TXT has helped us reduce collection development time cycles by half through greater and more timely access to product data,” said Claire Otter, Le Tanneur’s quality manager. “TXT PLM has provided fundamental support to Le Tanneur in helping us create more fashionable collections through a more efficient development process. This has enabled us to significantly increase the number of styles by season.”
Le Tanneur has experienced numerous benefits since deploying the TXT PLM solution. These include:
Twice as fast product development cycle
- Lower error rate in the design phase
- Collections are now priced four times faster
- Greater number of products developed per season
- Better quality of information
- Structured and improved communication between Le Tanneur’s headquarters, distribution centres and suppliers.
