Financial services company Legal & General (L&G) is supporting its customers throughout the coronavirus pandemic by using Microsoft Teams. The application is supporting staff to work remotelyand continue helping clients to manage their investments.
Microsoft says that the company also uses Microsoft 365 E5 alongside Teams “to allow L&G staff to share information securely and stay connected”.
“We had contact centre staff who needed to be able to support those customers at a critical point,” said Bruce Ingram, Office 365 delivery manager at L&G. “What we really needed to do was look at a way in which we could create a common tool set and a common way of working, and Microsoft 365 gave us that opportunity.”
Earlier in 2020, L&G also developed a digital workplace on SharePoint, called The Hub. Leveraging the Microsoft 365 suite, it helps to keep employees up to date with company news and stay productive and connected, Microsoft says. Teams spaces, Stream videos and Microsoft 365 assets have since been embedded in the SharePoint pages to improve the user experience.
“The transition that we’ve made has been phenomenal and it feels to me that we won’t go back to the way we were,” said Heather Andrews, employee experience director at L&G. “We launched The Hub in SharePoint back in January and we saw quite a significant shift in experience and in the tools available. Microsoft Teams has been an absolute enabler for us to continue to run our business.”
