MICROS has debuted its new mTablet E-Series at The National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show in Chicago.
The new range of tablet devices enables hospitality and retail staff to perform numerous activities from a single device and significantly improve interactions with guests.
The mTablet E-Series operates on the Microsoft Windows 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro platform and is available in both eight-inch and eleven-inch sizes.
The eight-inch handheld tablet is designed for on-the-go staff, while the eleven-inch version is fully compatible with the MICROS mStation base. This means users can use the devices remotely or connected to a workstation with full peripheral connectivity.
MICROS has also revealed its new Engagement feature, which brings an interactive element to the mTablet E-Series when running the MICROS Simphony point-of-sale solution in a food and beverage establishment.
The MICROS Engagement feature provides a fluid touch experience, with live tiles that covers numerous content, including daily specials, connection to loyalty programmes, and upcoming events. The feature is highly customisable and enables management staff to access actionable data, analytics and tools.
“We are very excited to introduce our new MICROS Engagement feature and MICROS mTablet E-Series at this year’s NRA Show,” said Russell Butler, senior vice president of Global Research and Development at MICROS Systems. “Mobility continues to be a consistent theme for technology in hospitality and retail. In food and beverage, it is not enough to be able to just take an order on a device at a table. The guests want to be able to interact with the technology as well. Providing an exceptional guest experience goes beyond the quality of food and service, it includes the entire guest interaction.”
