Microsoft empowers US Air Force with modern IT

Microsoft is partnering with the US Air Force to provide it with more modern IT solutions, such as Microsoft 365, Teams and the cloud. The move will help the Air Force scale more easily, improve cloud performance and communication, and comply with strict US Department of Defense requirements.

Airmen will be able to make use of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and other capabilities from Microsoft 365 to be more efficient and effective, for example, by creating management plans for future data.

The US Air Force's Cloud One migration centre integrates seamlessly with Azure Government, ensuring that apps on the platform inherit its security controls, which reduces operational costs.

As part of the partnership, the Air Force has also started implementing Microsoft Teams at its Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, US, to improve communication and teamwork between remotely deployed airmen.
