Microsoft has introduced the new Hololens Commercial Suite, which includes Development Edition hardware and enterprise features for added security and device management.
It has been four months since shipping of Microsoft HoloLens to development and commercial partners began.
“We’ve been absolutely amazed at the innovation shown by the creative people and companies building real solutions using HoloLens,” said Alex Kipman, technical fellow, Windows and Devices Group. “From training aircraft mechanics and flight crews, to helping golf pros and fans get more out of their game, I’m inspired by the experiences you are creating.”
The new Microsoft HoloLens Commercial Suite features mobile device management capabilities, so IT departments can manage multiple HoloLens devices at once using solutions such as Microsoft InTune.
Other features include Windows Update for Business, which provides controlled operating system updates to devices, and BitLocker data encryption and secure boot, which ensures HoloLens is as protected as any other Windows device.
The Commercial Suite also allows anyone in an organisation to connect remotely to the corporate network through a virtual private network on a HoloLens device.
IT departments can also set up an enterprise private store, which can contain the apps specifically for a company’s HoloLens usage.
