Microsoft releases SQL Server and R programming language e-book

Microsoft has released a new e-book aimed at helping developers create intelligent applications using SQL Server and R programming language.

The document aims to provide developers with the necessary information to take advantage of data-driven intelligence.

The e-book looks at the emergence of three key disruptive technology trends – data, machine learning and advanced analytics, and the cloud. How these can be harnessed to improve company databases and improve business processes is covered in the e-book.

Joseph Sirosh, corporate vice president, Data Group at Microsoft, writes in the e-book’s foreword: “Imagine a core enterprise application built with a database such as SQL Server. What if you could embed intelligence such as advanced analytics algorithms plus data transformations within the database itself, making every transaction intelligent in real time? That’s now possible for the first time with R and machine learning built in to SQL Server 2016.

The e-book can be downloaded from the Microsoft e-books site
