NAB Show: Clearleap boosts video offering with Azure Media Services

Multiscreen video logistics provider Clearleap has entered a multi-year agreement with Microsoft to help enhance its cloud-based, multiscreen video offerings using Azure Media Services.

The agreement – which is being highlighted at this week’s NAB Show in Las Vegas, US – will amplify Clearleap’s suite of software-as-a-service (SaaS) products and enable customers to scale their over-the-top (OTT) content and multiscreen solutions in a quick and efficient manner.

The Clearleap multiscreen video management platform features premium workflow and metadata management, flexible monetisation, and audience management tools.

The platform’s modular dashboard can be customised for both internal and customer-facing use.

Clearleap’s existing SaaS services will be incorporated into the Azure cloud stack, enabling the company to capitalise on high-calibre encoding systems, content protection and content delivery network services.

The additional cloud offering will operate alongside Clearleap’s existing data centre hubs, and will provide customers with a hybrid option for their multiscreen strategies.

“As OTT and TV Everywhere services continue to explode, mastering the complicated processes behind data management is critical to success,” said Braxton Jarratt, CEO, Clearleap. “Companies should be able to choose the technology that best fits their business needs, and we believe that by combining Azure’s cloud network with superior services, we’ve really created a best-of-both-worlds solution for brands looking to take their cross-screen offerings to the next level. With this new alliance, we’re looking forward to building additional engagement of TV Everywhere for our customers and their viewers.”

“Clearleap’s impressive features and management systems made them a strategic company for us to work with in the television technology space,” said Auste Viesulas, director of Business Development at Microsoft Azure. “Our work together allows customers to build, integrate, and deploy the video data solutions that they need through an extremely reliable and efficient cloud where they have the room for almost infinite scale.”

Microsoft and Clearleap will be presenting their latest integrations and features at the NAB Show, which takes place from 13-16 April 2015.
