Microsoft has partnered with the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) to protect more organisations from scams.

This partnership builds on from information found in GASA’s latest report, which found that in 2024, nearly 50 per cent of the world’s consumers dealt with at least one attempted scam every week and scammers drained the global economy of more than $1.03 trillion.

To help overcome this, Microsoft will work with GASA to “continually and proactively address fraud, scams and security threats as they emerge,” said Kelly Bissell, corporate vice president of fraud at Microsoft Security in a blog post titled ‘Microsoft partners with Global Anti-Scam Alliance to fight cybercrime’.

Microsoft will also join the Global Singal Exchange, a UK-based nonprofit organisation launched in partnership with GASA, to monitor more than 191 million threat signals in real time.
