This year’s IBC event, taking place on 12-15 September 2025 at the RAI Amsterdam, will mark a century since British inventor John Logie Baird first privately demonstrated a working television in 1925. IBC2025 will celebrate 100 years of TV innovation while spotlighting the technologies set to shape the next 100 years of media and entertainment.
Speaking during a press briefing, organisers described IBC2025 as the most transformative edition yet, explaining that it will bring together creative, technological and business leaders from across the global media and entertainment industry. More than 1,100 exhibitors representing 170 countries are expected to attend the event, which will offer a comprehensive programme.
Central to IBC2025 is the launch of ‘Future Tech’, a new dynamic hub in Hall 14 dedicated to emerging technologies, collaborative projects and next-generation talent. Visitors will explore how AI, virtual production, sustainable workflows, immersive experiences and more innovations are redefining the industry.
Highlights of Future Tech will include an ‘Accelerator Innovation Zone’, which will feature nine proof-of-concept projects tackling real-world industry challenges through collaboration between media owners and tech vendor. There will also be a ‘Future Tech Stage’, sponsored by Microsoft, where keynote sessions, panel discussions and live demonstrations will showcase the latest breakthroughs in content creation and delivery. In addition, there will be a ‘100 Years of Television’ exhibit, reflecting on the legacy and future prospects of TV.
The IBC Conference will run from 12-14 September with a focus on key issues such as sustainable growth in TV, live sports and real-time experiences, personalised advertising and the fight against misinformation and audience disengagement. Participants will also explore AI’s role in editorial workflows, content personalisation and operational efficiency.
Newly announced speakers include Elke Walthelm, chief operating officer of Sky Deutschland; Rollo Goldstaub, global head of sports partnerships at TikTok; and Thomas Gruber, co-CEO of ProsiebenSat.1 PULS 4. Leaders from ITV, Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTube and other media firms will also speak at the event.
Attendees will be able to use the Connector Hub for pre-event meeting planning and visit a networking hub at the conference centre which will host stand-up breakfasts, curated meetups and social events.
Exhibitors such as Adobe, Canon, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony will showcase solutions in production, transmission, cloud services and streaming technologies.
“IBC2025 is set to be our most transformative edition yet – a show where innovation is embedded across the entire experience,” said Steve Connolly, director of IBC. “From world-first product launches to pioneering conference insights, we’re bringing together the technologies, people and ideas that are redefining what’s possible in media and entertainment.”
