Mercedes-Benz has expanded its collaboration with Microsoft to boost in-car productivity for its customers with a new version of its Meetings for Teams application.

With this update, drivers will be able to use the in-car camera while driving, allowing other participants to see them during a meeting. However, to maximise safety and minimise distractions, the meeting video stream turns off automatically as the camera is activated, meaning the driver won’t see any shared screens or slides.

Mercedes-Benz has also integrated Microsoft Intune into its operating system, MB.OS, to create a secure, enterprise-compliant ecosystem designed for mobile work. Users can log in with their business accounts and switch between applications such as Teams and Calendar.

“Through our industry-leading collaboration with Microsoft, we are making it even easier for our customers to stay productive while on the move,” said Ola Källenius, chairman of the board of management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “By integrating the latest Microsoft workspace tools, such as Microsoft Teams, directly into our new operating system, MB.OS, we’ve created an intuitive and safe user experience that boosts efficiency and reduces distractions at the same time.”

The two oganisations are also working together to integrate Microsoft 365 Copilot into its newest vehicles, allowing users to summarise emails and manage daily tasks on the go.
