Microsoft has rolled out new updates to Windows 11, Copilot Voice and Copilot Vision, to make AI interactions more natural and intuitive.
The updates allow users to chat with Microsoft’s Windows Copilot using voice commands and let the AI see their screen (with permission) to take actions or offer contextual help.
“Until now, the power of AI has often been gated behind your skill at prompting,” said Yusuf Mehdi, executive vice president and consumer chief marketing officer at Microsoft. “The more context you provide and detail you share, the richer response you receive in return. But typing it out can be tedious and time consuming, especially if it takes multiple tries to get it right.”
With Copilot Voice, users can activate the assistant by saying “Hey Copilot.” Meanwhile, Copilot Vision can analyse on-screen content to offer insights or suggestions such as improving a creative project or editing a report. The feature also provides full app context, so if you ask Copilot to review a PowerPoint deck, it can assess the entire presentation without manually opening each slide.

Both features are now generally available for Windows 11 PCs. “We’re seeing that when people use voice, they engage with Copilot twice as much as when they use text,” said Mehdi.
Microsoft has also redesigned the taskbar experience to make Copilot “a natural part of how you use your PC,” said Mehdi. “Our vision is simple yet bold: to make the taskbar a dynamic hub that helps you accomplish more with less effort, transforming everyday interactions into moments of productivity and delight.”
