Microsoft Dragon Copilot, an AI-powered assistant for clinical workflows, is now available for nurses.

“This is the first ambient and generative AI experience built specifically for nursing workflows,” said Kathleen Mitford, corporate vice president of global industry marketing at Microsoft. “It’s about giving time back, reducing documentation burden and helping nurses stay present with their patients.”

With 65 per cent of nurses reporting high levels of stress and burnout, and more than 25 per cent of a nurse’s shift consumed by documentation and administrative tasks, according to Microsoft, Dragon Copilot now provides nurses with tailored AI capabilities that streamline documentation, surface clinical insights and automate routine tasks.

Dragon Copilot also securely integrates with partner AI apps and agents. Partners such as Elsevier, OpenEvidence and Wolters Kluwer UpToDate are enabling clinicians to access trusted, evidence-based insights directly within their workflows, supporting faster and more informed decision-making. Additional partners, including Atropos Health, Canary Speech, Lightbeam Health Solutions and Pangaea Data, are extending these capabilities to deliver smarter clinical insights and address care gaps.

“By enabling our customers to extend ambient capabilities across clinical staff and connect their preferred third-party AI apps and agents, we are accelerating the value of their investments across care settings and use cases,” said Mary Varghese Presti, corporate vice president and chief operating officer for Microsoft Health and Life Sciences.
