Microsoft has introduced its latest Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, which are powered by Snapdragon X2 processors to deliver faster performance, enhanced AI capabilities and a longer battery life.
There’s a 13-inch Surface Pro (a two-in-one combination laptop-tablet) and a 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop, both aimed at consumers. Devices targeted at businesses were unveiled in May 2026 with Surface for Business availability due to begin on 14 July.

“The new Surface Pro combines the flexibility of a tablet with the capability of full Windows, so you can move from sketching and notetaking to real desktop work on one device,” said Brett Ostrum, corporate vice president of Surface at Microsoft. “The Surface Pro delivers up to 53 per cent faster graphic performance than the previous generation, with up to 15.5 hours of battery life and a 1,440-pixel Quad HD camera with ultrawide field of view for clear video and natural framing on screen. The Surface Laptop pairs the premium build quality Surface is known for with the power of Snapdragon X2 with up to 58 per cent more graphics performance than the previous generation. The laptops also deliver up to 20 hours of battery life on the 13.8-inch and up to 19 hours on the 15-inch.”

As well as a Snapdragon X2 processor, the devices feature dedicated hardware for Copilot+ AI experiences, including a built-in neural processing unit (NPU), which handles AI tasks such as live captions, image generation and Windows Studio Effects. Both feature bright, colour-accurate LCD screens but the Surface Pro also has the option to include an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display, which Microsoft says delivers deeper blacks, higher contrast and greater colour accuracy.
