At Sibos 2026, Finastra has launched Repair Recommendations – a new AI-powered capability within AI OperatorAssist.

AI OperatorAssist is Finastra’s AI-powered assistant for bank payment operations. It helps staff search and understand payment information, investigate problems and exceptions, and identify ways to resolve them, using natural-language interaction rather than requiring them to manually work through complex payment systems.

Repair Recommendations adds to these capabilities by suggesting how a problematic payment should be repaired. The recommendations are validated against payment scheme and network rules, with the final action subject to human review and approval.

The new capability is designed to help banks respond more quickly to growing payment volumes by adding AI-assisted decision-making to existing workflows.

“With Repair Recommendations, we’re empowering banks to upgrade their payment operations – reducing resolution times and minimising errors,” said Barry Rodrigues, executive vice president of payments at Finastra. “As payment volumes increase, AI can help deliver immediate value by accelerating repairs, streamlining onboarding and strengthening resilience. We’re helping banks to scale their operations and deliver faster, more reliable services to their customers.”

Robin LoGiudice, strategic advisor at Datos Insights, added: “Manual processes continue to pose a major operational risk for financial institutions. Despite automation advances, payment teams still spend extensive time sourcing data and diagnosing exceptions, making operations costly and slow. AI-powered, validated, scheme-aware recommendations accelerate the gathering, extraction and analysis of payment information, enabling faster exception resolution while improving efficiency and precision.”

Repair Recommendations will complement Finastra’s Global PAYplus and Payments To Go, extending AI OperatorAssist’s investigative and analytical capabilities within existing payment-processing environments.

The cloud-based capability can identify payment discrepancies, analyse their underlying causes and provide recommendations validated against rules from payment networks and schemes including Swift, Fedwire, SEPA, UPI and Nexus.

At Sibos 2026, Finastra also announced Supply Chain Finance, a solution designed to help banks scale working capital programmes faster. Integrated with Finastra’s Trade Innovation and Loan IQ platforms through its Nexus API suite, the solution is designed to connect trade, lending and supply chain finance services.
