The Autumn 2026 issue of Technology Record is out now in print and digital format. This issue explores how organisations are moving beyond AI pilots to build fully integrated, agentic platforms that transform workflows, decision‑making and customer experiences.
In the cover story, for example, Shelley Bransten, corporate vice president of the frontier industry advisory at Microsoft Frontier Company, explains how fully integrated AI platforms are helping organisations to connect workflows, security and governance and drive value for their employees and customers.
“Instead of simply asking what AI can do, our customers are asking how they can apply the technology to their most important challenges and prove the business value of it,” says Bransten. “Across every industry, AI is moving from a standalone tool into the flow of work and the core processes that run the business. Companies are unlocking innovation and creating new opportunities for growth at a pace and scale unlike anything I’ve seen before.”

Meanwhile, in our executive interview, Lloyd Adams, corporate vice president and chief operating officer for global enterprise sales at Microsoft, explains how agentic AI is driving change at increasing pace and compelling organisations to rethink the way they work.
“We are at an inflection point, not just for Microsoft, but for every organisation,” he says. “The pace of change is accelerating and the companies that move first and learn fastest will create separation. Those that wait for certainty may find the market has moved on without them.”

Elsewhere, we take a deep-dive into how AI is transforming operations in various industries in features led by senior Microsoft executives. Tyler Pichach and Emmanuel Baviere share how agentic AI is transforming payments and core systems; Alfonso Rodriguez explores what is helping manufacturers move towards autonomous operations; Simon Crownshaw outlines how AI and connected platforms are helping media organisations to improve customer experiences and boost revenue; Shish Shridhar details how retailers are using AI to move from process automation to enterprise-wide intelligence; and Doug Priest explains how AI is helping cities to rethink operations.
We also have an in-focus feature, where Microsoft’s Sameer Verma highlights how Microsoft Dynamics 365 is evolving from a unified ERP and CRM suite into a foundation for agentic operations.

In addition, Microsoft partners including Coretek, Conga, Intermedia, LSEG, ServiceNow and Velosio offer insights on a broad range of topics – from security to data modernisation, the power of partnership and AI agents. For example, Iron Mountain’s Matt Jennings explains why the real barrier to enterprise AI progress is an organisation’s ability to unlock value from the data it already has.
