North American bank TD Bank Group (TD) is using the Microsoft cloud to deliver digital banking services that enhance its customers’ service experience.

TD uses Microsoft Azure and data platform services to help harness customer data and deliver actionable insights.

“As we launched new experiences, we needed a platform that could give us that speed and that capability, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft’s cloud platform specifically allowed us to do that,” said Imran Khan, vice president of digital customer experience at TD.

The bank is following a digital transformation journey that allows personal engagement with customers, fuels application development, and informs branch and store service delivery by gathering insights into how customers want to be served.

TD produces 100 million digital records every day, and has over 12 million digitally active customers. Microsoft cloud allows TD to access this data efficiently, and therefore deliver on its customer service promises.

“After all, we’re talking about people’s money,” said Khan. “No one gets up in the morning and says, ‘I want a mortgage or a new credit card.’ They say, ‘I want to own a home, invest in my children’s education, start a business, take a holiday with my family, plan for a happy and secure retirement.”
