Microsoft Education has teamed up with BBC World and American actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie to create a weekly children’s news show called My World.
The project aims to inform children about what is happening elsewhere in the world in an impartial way.
Alongside the show, Microsoft tools such as Teams and video platform Flipgrid will enable students to share information, create their own content and collaborate with teachers and peers.
“It’s important that we help young people develop the ability to become discerning learners and consumers of news,” said Brad Smith, president of Microsoft. “This starts in part with providing high quality and unbiased content that expands young people’s global views. Microsoft Education’s partnership with the BBC can play an important role in helping young people develop media literacy.”
