CaseLines delivers secure services in Microsoft Azure Government cloud

Case document and multimedia management system provider CaseLines now delivers secure services in Microsoft’s Azure Government cloud. Federal, state, local and tribal governments in the USA and their partners can use these designated datacentres to migrate workloads to the cloud. As such, the CaseLines platform enables judicial staff to work on cases from home, and can deliver virtual and remote hearings.

CaseLines’ solution manages written and multimedia files within justice processes and allows prosecutors to receive documents digitally from law enforcement agencies and to quickly complete discovery to defence attorneys. The system also now complies with the FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems Security Policy (CJIS), which ensures law enforcement agencies can deliver files digitally.

“Supporting compliance with the FBI CJIS Security Policy is a major milestone for CaseLines,” said Paul Sachs, founder and chief technology officer at CaseLines. “As we engage with courts and government agencies across the USA, it gives all parties the reassurance that our platform meets the most stringent requirements.

“Being cloud-based, our platform was designed from the outset to support virtual hearings. Implementing the cloud security controls to meet CJIS requirements comes at a critical time as prosecutors, lawyers and courts consider how to keep services running during the Covid-19 crisis. Now US justice agencies are in a position to adopt the virtual hearing tools that have already been proven in British courts.”
