KPMG and Microsoft are expanding their partnership to help clients manage, monitor and securely deploy AI at scale across their own organisations with Agent 365 and Copilot. At the same time, KPMG’s member firms will roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot to 276,000 employees worldwide.

The expansion is the latest move to embed Microsoft technology into KPMG’s global client service delivery platforms and enable organisations to monitor, govern and control AI agents from a central location. The deal enables KPMG to use Microsoft Agent 365 to enhance how services are delivered in its audit, tax and advisory services, including smart audit platform KPMG Clara, while helping clients build agent-powered operating models to securely deploy AI agents across their own organisations.

At the centre of this transformation is KPMG Workbench, a platform built on Microsoft Foundry that coordinates multiple AI agents across all client service delivery platforms.

“Microsoft and KPMG are working together to scale AI across our global network to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients by putting Copilot and Agent 365 in the hands of our people,” said Lisa Heneghan, global chief digital officer at KPMG International. “At the same time, KPMG professionals are working directly with clients to apply these capabilities to help them scale their own AI transformation in a trusted and responsible way. This requires strong foundations in governance, visibility and accountability – it is a key step in embedding responsible AI into the heart of our culture and helping clients do the same.”

The move aims to improve productivity and consistency across the workforce, while also providing governance frameworks so organisations can trust AI agents operating across systems, data and business processes and ensure they remain compliant with regulations.

“Together with KPMG, we’re unlocking the full potential of the next phase of AI in the enterprise,” said Deb Cupp, executive vice president and chief revenue officer at Microsoft Global Enterprise. “By combining Microsoft 365 Copilot and Agent 365 with KPMG’s deep industry knowledge and delivery and governance capabilities, we are helping clients further embed AI into how work is delivered and enabling the move from experimentation to enterprise-scale impact.”
