General Mills France – a subsidiary of global food company General Mills – is to deploy Dassault Systèmes’ Perfect Shelf industry solution to help engage in new merchandising strategies for its Häagen-Dazs brand of ice cream.
With the new solution, General Mills France will be able to better collaborate with retailers and enhance the shopping experience for customers.
Looking to innovate in the retail ice cream category and wanted to offer a differentiated and expanded Häagen-Dazs product line. Häagen-Dazs had launched a new range of ice cream stick bars in five flavours based on consumer feedback, and wanted a powerful category management solution to support the launch.
Ice cream sales are generally impulse buys, and the market relies heavily on product innovation. Factors such as strategic store aisle placement, shelving and product visibility are therefore all of vital importance when looking to secure market growth.
Based on Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Perfect Shelf will allow General Mills France to demonstrate and recommend the best shelving scenarios to retailers in order to help enhance its brand and increase revenue.
General Mills France works with retailers to provide realistic views of store aisles – including shelves, fixtures, products, lighting and promotional materials – by leveraging cloud-based 3D modelling and visualisation applications. Any changes to product positioning, signage and promotional displays are then made in real time within the 3DEXPERIENCE environment.
