IBC will return as a physical event in 2022 at RAI Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 9-12 September. Attendees can hear from the industry’s most influential minds during keynotes, panel discussions and technical paper presentations.
This year’s event will feature a vast line-up of headline speakers and a partnership-led approach to bringing more innovative content to the show and driving new advances across the media, entertainment and technology industry.

New for 2022, the event will host free-to-attend IBC Changemaker sessions, which bring together organisations such as RISE, Albert, MovieLabs, HBS, and Soho Media Club to explore topics such as raising equality, advancing sustainability and mental health awareness.
IBC also unveiled details for the Accelerator Media Innovation Programme, which enables collaboration between media companies and technology partners to solve real-world challenges. This year’s Accelerator projects include: cloud-based live events, analytics and low latency protocols; unified cloud architecture to streamline the localisation process; next-generation news studio; 5G and the arena of the future for AR events; 5G remote production…in the middle of nowhere; 6DOF audio-led narrative and music experiences in the metaverse; volumetric video for broadcasting, metaverse production and RT3D assets; media content sharing, monetisation and micropayment systems via blockchain. Proof-of-concept demonstrations will be showcased live at IBC 2022.
