Italy’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) has joined Microsoft’s Government Security Program as part of a wider collaboration to explore cybersecurity and resilience strategies for the country’s digital development.

The Microsoft programme brings resources and expertise to more than 90 security authorities and agencies to raise awareness of threats and vulnerabilities and the value of technology in protecting organisations and citizens. The partnership aims to create a framework for cooperation that allows ACN to act preventively and mitigate the risks associated with increasing cybercrime.

The two organisations will work together to promote access to advanced technologies and tools to ensure the security of public and private organisations. They will also explore the development of a training programme to deliver cybersecurity skills to workforces. Courses will be part of the broader Ambition Italy – Alliance for Work programme and Cybersecurity Skilling initiative, which are working to improve skills in computer security, where there is a lack of approximately 100,000 professionals with adequate skills.
