Microsoft and Ningbo Joyson Electronics (Joyson Electronics) have signed a cooperation memorandum to drive automotive technology and to make advancements in autonomous driving, shared and intelligent travel.
The firms will cooperate on cloud applications, intelligent speech technology, modern workplace solutions and R&D enhancement in the automobile industry. Joyson Electronics has also formed a new business unit called Joynext that will focus on innovative technologies such as connected infotainment and advanced driver-assisted systems, and will work with Microsoft on intelligent driving.
“To seize the new opportunities and to accelerate digital transformation, Joyson Electronics and Microsoft will jointly explore and develop the possibilities of cloud computing in the automobile industry, leveraging Microsoft’s cutting-edge technologies and Joyson Electronics’ rich industry experience,” said Kevin Liu, vice president of Joyson Electronics.
Joyson Electronics will leverage the Microsoft Azure cloud for its internet of vehicles solutions and enterprise infrastructure. It will also deploy Microsoft 365 to improve communication and collaboration between employees, and Dynamics 365 to develop a complete driving solution based on the cloud.
