Software provide panagenda has created a new agent that allows its TrueDEM digital experience monitoring platform to extend in-call Microsoft Teams analytics to macOS.
TrueDEM allows IT teams to respond quickly to user issues, and has supported macOS for device performance and network telemetry for some time. The new agent gives administrators audio, video and screen sharing performance as calls on macOS devices are happening, for every call a user makes, in the same way that an existing agent does for Windows users.
“Administrators could already see device and network behavior on a Mac, but not what was happening inside the call itself,” said Stefan Fried, senior program manager for TrueDEM at panagenda. “That made a Teams call issue on macOS harder to pinpoint than the same issue on Windows. With this release administrators get the same call data on both platforms.”
TrueDEM has been built by panagenda to extend, rather than replace, services provided by Microsoft’s own Teams monitoring capabilities. It combines Microsoft Call Quality Dashboard data with telemetry collected directly from the endpoint and the Teams client.
According to panagenda: “Microsoft’s Real-Time Analytics in the Teams admin center gives administrators live data for scheduled meetings and Meet Now sessions. TrueDEM adds the call types that sit outside that scope, 1:1 calls, group calls and PSTN calls, and collects them automatically, with no admin action needed while the call is in progress. Where Microsoft’s post-call view aggregates telemetry into averages and maxima, TrueDEM retains the moment-by-moment timeline, so administrators can see exactly when a call degraded and what was happening on the device and the network at that point.”
