The newly-released Windows 10 operating system will for a limited time be available as a free upgrade for customers currently running Windows 8.1 on their Surface Pro, Surface Pro 2, Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3 devices.
Brian Hall, general manager of Surface, said: “The things that have always made Surface unique as both a laptop replacement and a powerful tablet get even better in Windows 10 – from using the pen in the new Microsoft Edge browser to seamlessly moving between tablet and desktop mode with a feature called Continuum.”
With Continuum, users can use a keyboard and mouse or can optimise their screen for a touch experience.
Onscreen features, such as menus and taskbars, adapt for easy navigation with Windows 10, and apps have been built to smoothly scale from screen to screen, including for Microsoft Surface devices.
Hall added: “We’re incredibly proud of the work the Windows team has done and know you’re going to love what it means for your Surface!”
