MWC Los Angeles 2019, which takes place on 22-24 October at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, invites over 22,000 attendees to explore high-speed 5G networks, internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and big data in the media and entertainment industries.
Delegates will have the chance to hear keynotes with CEOs from across the mobile ecosystem and attend 33 separate intelligent connectivity sessions across automotive, financial technology, media and entertainment, and retail. Trade association for wireless communication CTIA will have an “Everything Policy” track, which will focus on trends and developments in government and public policy. These will all take place within the event’s four themes: 5G, IoT, Disruptive Innovation, and Immersive Content.
The 5G sessions will cover economics, edge computing, industrial IoT, spectrum and network slicing. The IoT-based topics include transportation, collaborative intelligence and security. Those interested in the AI side of the conference can explore the ethics involved, blockchain, disruptive innovation and data analytics. And the immersive content sessions will cover augmented reality/virtual reality, live entertainment, content creation, distribution, gaming, sports and entertainment, and more.
“This will be an especially exciting time for the mobile industry as 5G will have wider reach and increased use cases on full display at MWC19 Los Angeles, making it the must-attend industry event of the Americas,” said John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA, the event organiser. “We’re looking forward to returning to Los Angeles to showcase how Intelligent Connectivity – 5G, IoT hyper connectivity, artificial intelligence and big data – is disrupting multiple industries throughout the show.”
Like MWC Shanghai, the LA event will feature the 4YFN (Four Years from Now) start-up event and the Women4Tech programme. The Youth Mobile Festival (YoMo) will also return with an expanded presence at 150 schools in the area, with the aim of inspiring a new generation.
