UA92 uses Microsoft Teams to create online learning environment

University Academy 92 (UA92) is using Microsoft Teams to provide its students with an uninterrupted learning schedule. The institution, which was set up by Manchester United’s Class of 92 and Lancaster University and welcomed its first students in late 2019, was able to seamlessly transition to fully online courses with its strong partnership with Microsoft. It also had experience facilitating online learning due its weekly ‘Digital Wednesdays’ where students only use online resources to study.

The university transitioned to fully online learning on 19 March to enable studies to continue on schedule.

“Despite these challenging times, it’s important to mark this milestone for our pioneer undergraduates who commenced their studies in business, media and sport subjects last September,” said Craig Gaskell, principal and CEO of UA92. “They have been working very hard, via our block structured delivery approach, to enable completion of their entire first year of studies at the beginning of April.

“Students adapted very quickly to fully online learning, as did staff, and engagement has continued to be impressive, enabling studies to continue while observing the essential national lockdown. I am grateful to everyone involved for making this great vision for contemporary higher education a reality, and for their determination to ensure learning continues, despite these exceptional circumstances.”

UA92 is also providing a range of virtual open events and applicant days to replace the physical events that were planned to take place during the lockdown period.
