Cloud archive, backup, and storage firm HubStor has launched its cloud data management platform for Microsoft’s Azure Active Directory (AD). Enterprises can use it to automate data management to increase protection and lower risk.

Microsoft’s Azure AD is a cloud-based identity and access management service that helps employees access both external resources such as Office 365 and internal resources such as apps in a corporate network or intranet.

HubStor’s cloud data management capabilities enable enterprises to use Microsoft Azure AD’s identity attributes to control the storage, preservation and security of data:
Storage: According to a blog post by HubStory, it can now detect when a user leaves the organisation and automatically enrol their Microsoft Office 365 mailbox and OneDrive for Business site into Azure-based secondary storage, enabling IT teams to simplify their processes for meeting legal requirements.

Preservation: HubStor can set retention periods on a user’s data in secondary storage when, for example, the user joins or leaves the organisation.

Security: HubStor can restrict access permissions to global data streams so that privileged users can search, access, or recover information relating to specific users.

“Enhancing HubStor’s integration with Azure Active Directory and the HubStor policy engine to incorporate identity metadata unlocks never-before-seen data management capabilities in the IT industry,” said Brad Janes, vice president of Product Management at HubStor. “We listen to the needs of our customers closely as we build out the HubStor cloud data management platform.”
