IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl hosted a session at Microsoft Ignite 2022 where it showcased the value of the Microsoft Power Platform as a source of data.

During the session, speakers Richard Baird, chief technology officer and engineering lead at Kyndryl, and Sarah Maston, director of global partner development at Microsoft, spoke about Kyndryl's new capability to connect mainframe data to Microsoft Power Platform.

They discussed how Kyndryl can bring data to every corner of a business faster by “reimagining a new, transformative way to work with the mainframe”, and how it can enable customers to take advantage of a new powerful data source for application modernisation.

Baird also highlighted Kyndryl’s zCloud – a service that enables users to host applications in a secure, multi-talented mainframe environment.

“It gives them the flexibility to scale up or down while maintaining the security and resiliency required for their mission-critical mainframe workloads,” he said. “It allows them to reduce or eliminate the costs associated with their own managed data centres and infrastructure, and gives them predictable, consumption-based pricing.”

Petra Goude, Global Practice Leader Core Enterprise and zCloud at Kyndryl, also discussed the topic with Microsoft on the event’s main stage.
