Microsoft has announced a series of strategic partnerships with Cognizant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Wipro to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI across global markets.

The initiative, revealed by Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella during a visit to Bengaluru, India, includes the deployment of more than 200,000 Microsoft Copilot licences across the four organisations, representing one of the largest coordinated enterprise AI rollouts.

The announcement follows Microsoft’s plans, shared a day earlier, to invest $17.5 billion in cloud and AI infrastructure, skilling and operations in India between 2026 and 2029. Through the expanded collaborations, Microsoft and its partners aim to embed Microsoft 365 Copilot and broader agentic AI capabilities into core business functions, enabling greater productivity, efficiency and innovation.

Cognizant, Infosys, TCS and Wipro will use Copilot to redesign operational workflows around human–agent collaboration, helping enterprises enhance delivery, sales, finance, human resources and customer engagement. Each organisation is positioning itself as a ‘frontier firm’– a term used by Microsoft to describe businesses that outpace peers by rapidly adopting and operationalising advanced technologies, redesigning processes end to end and achieving consistently higher productivity, innovation and economic impact. By deploying more than 50,000 licences each, the organisations aim to demonstrate how AI-driven models can deliver measurable business impact at scale.

“Cognizant, Infosys, TCS and Wipro aren’t just embracing AI – they’re setting the global pace,” said Puneet Chandok, president of Microsoft India & South Asia. “These enterprises are moving beyond experimentation to full-scale deployment, embedding Copilot into the fabric of everyday work. The blueprint is being written here, where speed, scale and impact converge to redefine what’s possible.”

Cognizant and Microsoft have expanded their collaboration to deliver generative AI and Copilot capabilities to enterprise users worldwide. As an early adopter of Copilot, Cognizant has used its deployment experience to inform the development and implementation of agentic AI solutions for large-scale customer environments. “We’re experiencing the largest infrastructure investment in tech history,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant. “Our collaboration with Microsoft and investment in Copilot are creating new opportunities for innovation, efficiency and growth. We aim to transform AI potential into operational results for our clients and their customers.”

Infosys is strengthening its AI-first operating model through deeper collaboration with Microsoft, supported by one of the world’s largest Copilot deployments. By integrating Microsoft’s Intelligence Layer with Infosys Topaz Fabric and Infosys Cobalt, the organisation is using multi-agent workflows to enhance productivity and support modernisation for global clients. “By embedding AI deeply into our operating model, we are shifting from traditional workflows to a human+ agent powered enterprise,” said Salil Parekh, CEO and managing director of Infosys. “This transformation is enhancing agility, elevating insight-driven decision-making and positioning Infosys at the forefront of innovation.”

TCS is drawing on Microsoft technologies to modernise sales, human resources and finance operations. The deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot and GitHub Copilot is enabling teams to digitise processes, accelerate software development and enhance internal support through personalised AI coaching capabilities. “At TCS, we are building a future-ready organisation,” said K Krithivasan, CEO and managing director of TCS. “Microsoft Cloud, data and AI technologies are integral to our business transformation.”

Wipro is advancing its frontier firm strategy through a three-year partnership with Microsoft, including the launch of the Microsoft Innovation Hub at Wipro’s Partner Labs in Bengaluru. With more than 50,000 Copilot licences deployed and extensive skilling across Microsoft Cloud and GitHub technologies, Wipro is applying agentic AI across industries such as financial services, retail, manufacturing and healthcare. “Our partnership with Microsoft amplifies our vision, accelerating the adoption of agentic AI and unlocking value for our clients and us,” said Srini Pallia, CEO and managing director of Wipro.

Microsoft says that, together with its frontier firm partners, it is working to redefine enterprise transformation in the era of agentic AI by driving innovation, operational excellence and measurable impact across global markets.
