From 1 January 2023, service will support storage and management of customer data

From 1 January 2023, Microsoft will begin rolling out a European Union (EU) Data Boundary solution to public sector and commercial customers in the EU.

The Data Boundary is designed to build on current residency solutions and offer more control over data as well as increased transparency, whilst maintaining EU regulations and industry-specific standards.

Customers will be able to store and process their customer data within the Data Boundary, which is available to Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform and Dynamics 365 services.

This will also help Microsoft to meet commitments for expanding local storage and processing, help reduce data flows out of Europe and further support Microsoft’s five European Cloud Principles.
