Mobile ecosystem organisation GSMA will host Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via in Spain between 28 February and 3 March 2022. The conference is focused around the theme of ‘Connectivity Unleashed’ and will offer both in-person and hybrid sessions.

During the four-day event, over 450 international businesses, including mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners, will come together to network and hear about the future of connectivity.

There will be over 25 keynote and conference sessions, following eight programmes on digital health, fintech, frontier technology, sports technology, impact, investors, communities, diversity and inclusion. Representatives from Austria, Andorra, Chile, Egypt, Korea, Spain, Switzerland and the UK will showcase their solutions on the show floor.

‘Connectivity Unleashed’ will be explored through topic areas including CloudNet, 5G Connect, Internet of Everything, FinTech, Tech Horizon and Advancing AI.

“MWC22 will show off cutting-edge technology that pushes the boundary of possibility,” said Mats Granryd, director general at GSMA. “Sparking conversations that fuel innovation, bringing start-ups, big business, and governments together to inspire and create a connected world that delivers for all. MWC21 was the beginning of a comeback for live-events, and I can’t wait to be back in Barcelona.”

Keynote speakers at this event include connectivity industry leaders such as Cher Wang, co-founder and chairperson at HTC Corporation, Pekka Lundmark, president and CEO at Nokia, and Nick Read, CEO at Vodafone Group.

“More than ever before, we can shape the future in truly transformational ways,” said Anne Chow, CEO at AT&T Business, who is also participating as a keynote speaker. “From small businesses on Main Street to global enterprises trading on Wall Street – the time is now to unite technology and human ingenuity to reinvent how we do business. Looking forward to sharing more at next year’s Mobile World Congress.”

Speakers will be joined by exhibitors from across the connectivity ecosystem including Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Nokia, Orange, Samsung Electronics and Vodafone.

“This year, I was incredibly proud that we were able to bring the industry back together in Barcelona after so long apart,” said John Hoffman, CEO at GMSA. “Building on the success of MWC21, I’m thrilled that we can do it again. At the 2022 edition of MWC we will provide a platform for the debates that define society’s relationship with technology and, ultimately, we will be the place where business gets done.”
