Global certificate authority GMO GlobalSign has debuted TLS Connect, which is designed to help small and medium businesses (SMBs) automate public trust Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificate deployment and renewal.
Designed to run on-premises, TLS Connect enables SMBs to automatically manage and configure TLS certificates across multiple endpoints from a single interface. The tool has a built-in certificate scanner, an intuitive dashboard and reporting capabilities. It also integrates with various network devices and servers, the Automated Certificate Management Environment protocol, and GlobalSign’s Atlas platform (for new customers) and the GlobalSign Certificate Center (for existing customers).
TLS Connect will reduce the cost and administrative burdens of ensuring TLS certificates remain compliant with regulations and in date, thereby lowering the risk of service outages, data breaches and the associated costs and reputational damage. This is becoming increasingly complex because the lifespan of TLS certificates was reduced from 398 to 200 days on 15 March 2026 and will be further decreased to 100 days on 15 March 2027 and 47 days on the same day in 2029.
“With the TLS certificate landscape growing ever more complex, companies of all sizes may feel a loss of control,” said Aditya Anand, head of business unit for the TLS & CLM CA division at GMO GlobalSign. “The critical difference is that most midsize and large enterprises have CLM tools in place to manage their certificates, while SMBs do not. TLS Connect will remove the sting of transitioning to shortened certificate lifespans. Customers will get a powerful certificate lifecycle management solution designed just for SMBs at a price point they can afford, giving them the confidence they need to run their business without fear of a certificate expiring.”
