Esri launches ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Microsoft .NET

Esri has released the first commercial version of its ArcGIS Runtime SDK for the Microsoft .NET Framework.

The software development kit (SDK) has been built as a new, shared application programming interface across native app platforms promoted by Microsoft.

ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .NET helps developers integrate ArcGIS into Windows apps for desktop and mobile platforms.

The SDK includes a range of online and offline mapping functionalities, such as editing, routing, geocoding, spatial analysis and data visualisation.

Windows Store apps run on Windows 8.1 devices and emphasise streamlined content to provide a consistent and touch-friendly experience. Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1 support a shared development experience to build universal apps on a common Windows Runtime.

ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .NET allows developers to use XAML and C# to embed ArcGIS capabilities into universal apps for the latest Windows devices.
