Spanish car manufacturer Seat has reduced development times and made steps towards automating its internal processes by implementing Microsoft’s Power Platform.
The firm started using the platform in 2022 to develop low code/no code to create its own applications. The 20 citizen developers assigned at the time have since made 19 solutions, and the firm has observed that for every hour of development in Power Platform, it can save up to two and a half hours on internal processes.
By the end of 2023, Seat hopes to have 100 citizen developers and 50 applications, which would save up to 50,000 hours of work.
“Power Platform has provided us with a wide range of tools, all of which are easily integrated,” said Iñigo Suárez, IT chief operating officer of Seat. “Plus, being included in Microsoft 365 makes it easy to work with other tools like Sharepoint, Teams, and Outlook. It is also positive that it is scalable in terms of capacity and plans, depending on our needs.”
The citizen developers also use SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to collaborate and establish developer communities training itineraries. It will also use the platforms to develop a communication plan to help train the new Microsoft solution so it can make more complex applications.
