More companies than ever before are transitioning their employees into remote workers. During this time of uncertainty caused by Covid-19, it is essential that companies have the right tools in place to support remote employees and maintain regular business operations. Paperless automation software provides organisations with security, flexibility and efficiency so their employees can continue to work no matter where their new offices may be. There are four main ways that automation can boost remote working productivity.

First, paperless automation software can be used in the cloud to give your employees quick and easy access to all of your organisation’s information in one place. This enhances collaboration and enables them to retrieve the data they need at any time, from anywhere.

Paperless automation in the cloud also offers enhanced compliance and security by tracking every movement within the workflow, whether it was automated or manual. This means that there’s a record of who touched a document, when they accessed it and what they did with it, leaving a comprehensive audit trail. Many paperless automation systems are also role-based, so managers can control the functionality and permissions of each employee. And when your workforce is a remote one, this is essential for making sure that information stays in the right hands.

When your employees aren’t all in the same place it’s even more important that team members have instant visibility into business processes and happenings. Paperless automation provides real-time updates so that employees, managers and members of the C-suite can always see what’s pending, what’s late and what has been paid, helping managers to identify bottlenecks, areas that are working well and areas that need improvement. And they can do all of this from anywhere.

It’s no surprise that the current hardships have financially affected many businesses, even those that are still up and running. However, paperless automation has been proven to help companies save money. The average cost of processing a paper invoice is about $10, but costs reduce to almost zero when the process is automated and invoices are received, processed and paid electronically. In addition, the time it takes to process an invoice drops dramatically.

Today, companies are looking for ways to better support and empower their employees so they can continue to work efficiently and safely. Automation technology is one of the key tools to keep businesses running smoothly without missing a beat.
