Telecom operator Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) has deployed Microsoft Office 365 to improve innovation and collaboration.
The company aims to transform the relationships between its 3,000 employees split across ten office locations. As well as using business-class email, it has also adopted Skype for Business videoconferencing and online meeting rooms.
By improving the exchange of information and data-based insights, management have been able to ensure effective decision-making, thereby accelerating the speed of conducting business. MPT is also benefitting from increased collaboration with business partners and vendors, made possible by the comprehensive and integrated business-class email solution of Office 365.
The widespread use of mobile phones enables cross-device usage across PC, tablet and mobile for the company. The Office 365 solution supports this, allowing employees to work anytime and anywhere and across devices. Online file storage means employees can work collaboratively in Word, Excel or PowerPoint on a single document with version history support.
“We find collaborative file management and sharing through SharePoint accommodating, and it helps improve our team’s productivity by literally keeping everyone on the same page for co-authoring a document,” said Cho Zin Aung, who works in the corporate communication department at MPT. “Office 365 mobile apps allows our team members to work from anywhere securely using their own mobile devices, be it accessing email, calendar, schedules, or view or share files through OneDrive. And this is particularly significant in the context of Myanmar due to the high penetration rate of mobile devices across the country.”
