The MTC in São Paulo has evolved considerably since it opened seven years ago. Waldemir Cambiucci, the Brazil MTC lead at Microsoft, tells us more

São Paulo is expanding Microsoft’s presence in Brazil

Over the last 20 years, Microsoft has established a vast network of Microsoft Technology Centers (MTCs) and now has a presence in over 30 locations worldwide. With over 50 MTC sites, the initiative has been collecting records and broadening its impact with Microsoft partners and customers year after year, delivering a complete experience that reflects Microsoft’s digital transformation strategy.

In Brazil, the MTC programme has been in operation since January 2012, when the centre in São Paulo was opened. From January 2012 to January 2019, more than 55,000 people visited the centre, facilitating over 6,000 engagements with Microsoft customers and partners.

Today, the centre in São Paulo focuses on digital transformation, delivering discussions on several important pillars such as the internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), modern workplace, data platform and analytics, security and compliance and more.

This year also begins a new cycle for MTCs in Brazil. The centre in São Paulo will be moving to a new address in the city. With a revamped space, the MTC will operate with an even greater focus on digital transformation, combining new offerings and labs with direct impact to Microsoft customers. 

In addition to dedicated spaces for strategic sessions, workshops and hackathons, the MTC in São Paulo will feature a space called Exploratorium which will be dedicated to supporting dozens of immersive digital transformation demos and experiences. These will cover IoT, AI, cognitive services and more, presenting the impact of digital transformation across all industries. 

The new space is organised by experience, supporting ideation sessions, strategy sessions, architecture design sessions, rapid prototyping, workshops and hackathons. These will be important tools to accelerate the digital transformation of Microsoft customers in Brazil.
