Yammer and salesforce.com integration sample code solution released

Yammer is introducing a new sample code solution that allows customers to integrate the enterprise social network with salesforce.com using the Yammer API developer platform.

A Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) user will now be able to communicate with colleagues via Yammer without leaving the CRM application.

Users will be able to access features in the Yammer API platform, such as the App Directory, which lets employees browse and connect business apps with Yammer on their own and Open Graph, which allows users to connect to files, events, and webpages from other platforms and applications.

Adrianne Martinson, a product manager on the Enterprise Social team at Microsoft, said that this code shows how Yammer can easily be integrated with other line of business applications, such as CRM, enterprise resource planning or HR.

Yammer already integrates with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

In May, Microsoft announced that it has partnered with salesforce.com to develop new solutions that connect Salesforce’s CRM apps and platform to Microsoft Office and Windows.

Users will be able to access Salesforce via their Windows devices using the Salesforce1 for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 solution.

A preview of the solution is due to become available in autumn 2014 and is expected to be released in 2015.

Salesforce ExactTarget Marketing Cloud offering has been embedded in Office 365 and Salesforce will use Microsoft SQL Server as a database for ExactTarget, while Microsoft Azure will be used for ‘target development and testing’.
