Technology providers will showcase the latest trends in robotics at the Application Park during Hannover Messe, from 20–24 April 2026 in Germany.
The spotlight will be on AI-powered perception systems, autonomous mobile manipulators and humanoid robots. While these robots may not match traditional industrial robots in speed, precision or payload, they offer greater adaptability. Designed to work with existing tools, workstations and infrastructure, they can automate processes or adjust procedures and products without overhauling production lines.
“In traditional automation sectors such as automotive or electronics, specialised industrial robots will continue to lead in accuracy, speed, payload and reliability,” said the event organisers. “Meanwhile, software advances are accelerating robotics capabilities. Improved digital twins, data-driven simulation and virtual commissioning allow robots to be programmed or trained faster, without disrupting production.”
Hexagon, for example, will showcase its AEON humanoid robot, which combines Hexagon sensors with Microsoft-powered AI for spatial intelligence.
