HDFC Bank partners with Microsoft to enhance data-sharing capabilities

India-based HDFC Bank has partnered with Microsoft to leverage Microsoft Azure, the Power Platform and Microsoft 365 to enhance its data-sharing capabilities, modernise and migrate is application portfolio and provide a secure digital workplace for its employees.

The bank will build a new solution via Microsoft Azure to share data easily between its several business units. It will include a collaborative engineering environment, security, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.

“Our partnership with Microsoft is a part of our technology transformation agenda by investing in running the bank as well as building the bank of the future,” said Ramesh Lakshminarayanan, group head of information technology and chief information officer at HDFC Bank. “At the heart of this is the ability to offer a neo-banking experience to our customers that is second to none.”

HDFC will also leverage Microsoft Power Platform’s low-code/no-code capabilities to develop an App Innovation and Automation Factory that will allow the bank to migrate and transform its application portfolio.

In addition, the firm will make use of Microsoft 365 to encourage employee collaboration, app modernisation and secure remote work. HDFC Bank has also embedded Microsoft Security to enable secure hybrid work for its employees.
