Ilunion, an inclusion and diversity consultancy firm, has saved its legal department over 7,000 hours of work annually with Microsoft 365 Copilot AI agents.
Through its Ilunion programme, the firm has developed several AI use cases across different business areas with a focus on improving processes, increasing productivity, and building more accessible and efficient work environments.
Ilunion’s lawyers, who manage more the 2,000 legal proceedings a year, now use an AI agent developed with Agent Builder on Microsoft 365 Copilot, which assists them in their daily tasks. The agent, named Litigator, has so far reduced the time spent on initial case analysis down to approximately 40 seconds.
“We faced the challenge of transforming the legal department into a strategic business partner,” said José Luis Barceló, director of the legal department at Ilunion. “A fundamental element of this process was technology. We developed the Litigator agent, which has become the main daily assistant for Ilunion litigation lawyers. Once again, technology serves inclusion as a barrier-removing tool and a generator of equal conditions.”
Elsewhere in the business, Microsoft 365 Copilot is being used to reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks and enhance creativity across Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Over 16,000 employees at Ilunion have disabilities, and the firm’s endeavours in AI and digital transformation aim to improve accessibility and efficiency in the workplace.
“With Microsoft, we share common goals around accessibility,” said Juan Manuel Caballero, chief information officer at Ilunion. “With the Ilunion programme, employees are already proactively asking us to use AI. We’re starting to develop agents; we have 10 in production. The time will come when these agents can talk to each other, in an unattended relationship that will help us be more efficient, more productive and improve our customer service.”
