M-Files has expanded its partnership with Microsoft to make managing business documents more efficient. By using Microsoft 365 and its API-only service, SharePoint Embedded, M-Files customers can now use features in Microsoft 365 Copilot and M-Files Aino to enhance how content is organised, accessed and used.

This extended partnership gives businesses a central, scalable way to find documents quickly, manage them through their full lifecycle and use AI to streamline everyday tasks. They can gain insights from documents, collaborate on them and keep them secure, enabling them to get the most out of their Microsoft 365 investments.

“M-Files brings tremendous value to the Microsoft ecosystem through deep industry expertise and purpose-built business use cases,” said Jeff Teper, president of Microsoft 365 Collaborative Apps and Platforms. “This revolutionary offering, the first-of-its kind built on SharePoint Embedded, combines Microsoft’s collaborative platform with M-Files’ business-centric processes and scaled document management to deliver a solution that’s greater than the sum of its parts. Together, we’re unlocking the full potential of Microsoft 365 investments for our customers.”

Jay Bhatt, CEO of M-Files, said: “This partnership marks a pivotal moment for M-Files and the industry. As the first document management system to use both Microsoft 365 and its API-only service, SharePoint Embedded, we have fundamentally changed how enterprise content is managed and accessed at scale. This isn’t just another integration – it’s a native solution, built over months of collaboration, that combines M-Files’ strengths in metadata-driven automation and AI with Microsoft’s powerful collaboration, security and Copilot capabilities. For organisations invested in Microsoft, M-Files is now the clear choice for document management.”
