AVEVA has introduced four AI tools to help engineers analyse, solve, and automate challenges in engineering and design projects.

An industrial AI assistant supports project engineering work and captures company product usage knowledge; a generative design AI assistant analyses design constraints and provides solutions based on requirements and user directives; a predictive design AI assistant lets users create custom machine learning models to combat in-house design challenges without coding; and an intelligent point cloud framework automatically reads, imports and displays point cloud data with AI classification from AVEVA Point Cloud Manager.

All tools are integrated into AVEVA’s engineering and design platform, assisting teams throughout their workflows.

“These tools will offer the ability to capture institutional knowledge and build bespoke AI and machine learning modules through no-code tools, meaning organisations can future-proof their projects while working smarter, faster and more accurately,” said Rob McGreevy, chief product officer at AVEVA.

The firm says that the new tools are the first wave of new technology designed to empower AVEVA Unified Engineering users. They are designed to enable faster, more efficient project design.

“AVEVA’s launch of AI tools for engineering and design marks a significant step in reshaping design engineering for process manufacturers,” said Peter Reynolds, industry advisory for ARC Advisory Group. “AI is becoming a powerful tool to enhance efficiency, accuracy and innovation across nearly every discipline, from mechanical and civil to electrical and process engineering.”
