The Spring 2019 issue of The Record is out now and available to download free of charge in digital format.

As the magazine is published, final preparations are being made for this year’s Hannover Messe event, where tens of thousands of attendees will come together to learn more about digital disruption in the world of manufacturing. As such, on page 68 we look at some of the latest advances in manufacturing workforce collaboration and where Microsoft technology is adding value.

Our cover story features an interview with the chief technology officer of Microsoft US, Jennifer Byrne, who discusses training employees with the necessary digital skills to remain employable in the evolving workplace.

A recent report from the National Retail Federation suggests that, despite concerns over global economic slowdown, the US retail sector could grow by 4.4% in 2019 alone. At a time when this sector faces the challenges of achieving growth in uncertain times, we talk with Microsoft’s newly appointed corporate vice president for Retail and Consumer Goods, Shelley Bransten, about the retail industry’s emerging technology landscape and her strategy for the financial year ahead. You’ll find that interview on page 22.

As usual, our main features and interviews explore everything from intelligent manufacturing helping employees , making media more efficient, competition in insurance, how governments can improve cybersecurity and Microsoft helping cities become more.

Alongside is the latest news from across the spectrum of enterprise and public sector activities worldwide and are supported by a wide range of case studies and thought-leader perspectives that showcase how digital transformation is driving change.

This issue is also the first to be distributed throughout the entire network of Microsoft Technology Centres worldwide, so look out for a copy when you next visit your local venue.
