Sibos 2017: Murex’s MX.3 platform coming to Microsoft Azure

The MX.3 platform from Murex – a trading, risk management and processing solutions provider – is coming to Microsoft Azure.

The platform has now been certified to run on Azure, and continues the relationship Murex and Microsoft struck up in early 2016.

Since then, the two companies have collaborated to bring solutions that support digital transformation to market. This will be furthered by bringing Murex’s MX.3 platform to Azure, and there are also plans in place to integrate Microsoft SQL Server 2016 for MX.3.

Murex has certified Azure for a number of demanding use cases. These include graphics processing unit-powered solutions for computationally intensive workloads. This will enable Murex’s customers to take advantage of the flexibility and scale the cloud offers.

Murex will continue to offer client services to customers who adopt the cloud as part of their infrastructure.

“Increasingly we see banks looking for ways to rationalise, simplify, and reduce total cost of ownership,” said Maroun Eddé, CEO of Murex. “Cloud brings tremendous agility to our clients and is a key enabler of their transformation initiatives. Our clients are accustomed to the highest level of support from Murex and we’re now fully confident that we can continue to provide the same high standards of service in the cloud.”

The news was revealed at this week’s Sibos event in Toronto, Canda.

“Microsoft is committed to supporting financial institutions in their digital transformation journey, providing firms with the global scale and enterprise-grade security to deploy applications in the cloud,” said Janet Lewis, vice president of Worldwide Financial Services at Microsoft. “Murex solutions powered by Microsoft Azure provide businesses with the productivity and intelligence to run their most demanding business applications in the cloud.”
