Microsoft launches new M&R webcast series

Microsoft’s Enterprise Audience Marketing and the Executive Briefing Centers have teamed up to launch the Empowering Manufacturing & Resources webcast series, which forms part of the company’s wider Empowering webcast series.

Presented by subject-matter experts from Microsoft, the series introduces the possibilities of digital transformation to potential new customers across a range of areas.

Enrique Andaluz, worldwide industry director of strategic business development at Microsoft, will discuss how the Industrial Internet of Things is helping market leaders excel, differentiate and disrupt their industries. He will also share more on how Microsoft has worked with companies such as Rolls-Royce, Jabil and ABB to help transform their businesses and improve customer service.

Microsoft’s worldwide industry director of strategic business development Chris Harries will discuss the change in experience consumers are seeking when buying and owning a vehicle. In his ‘Transforming the Automotive Retail Experience’ webcast, Harries will discuss how automotive original equipment manufacturers and dealers are having to make a shift in their processes to accommodate for customers that are living more of their lives online. To account for this, more has to be done to enable seamless engagement across both digital and physical aspects of the industry, which calls for new processes and new tools.

‘Technologies Fueling the Oil & Gas Industry’ will be presented by Kadri Umay, Director of Industry Technology Strategy of Oil, Gas, and Mining at Microsoft, and will look at the various challenges the oil and gas industry is facing and how to counter these. Cost pressures are high, and a new generation of field works must develop their experience, while more attention needs to be paid to compliance and reporting. This is all pointing towards companies in this field making the transition to being a digital business, and embracing technologies that enable this transformation.
